Ford Capri 2.3 Ghia – 10/1978 – 108 HP – 100,500 km

For sale is a Ford Capri 2.3 Ghia, built in October 1978 and first registered in May 1979, equipped with the 2.3-litre YYE engine producing 108 HP.

The Capri currently has 100,500 km and is finished in Diamond White with a black vinyl roof and black interior.

This is an honest and well-maintained classic car, not being presented as a perfect museum piece, but as an interesting enthusiast’s car with a number of sensible technical upgrades. Several of the modifications can be reversed if desired, and the corresponding original parts are included.

• 5-speed gearbox from a Sierra, with modified/welded crossmember

• Original 4-speed gearbox included

• New Sachs clutch

• New 38 DGAS Weber carburettor – the original Solex was beyond saving

• Reversible ignition module – original component included for purists

• 4 × Bilstein B6

• New rear leaf springs with new bushes

• Ghia wheels as well as 13-inch RS wheels

• Janspeed stainless-steel exhaust system, twin-exit, with tubular manifold and TÜV approval

• Original exhaust system also included

• Stainless-steel braided brake lines

• Aluminium top mounts with ball bearings – original parts included

• Custom aluminium valve cover – original also included

ℹ️ Condition

The Capri is not a perfect car, but an honest classic with age- and use-related signs of wear.

There are currently some minor oil leaks around the oil pressure sender, the gearbox output area and the differential. I do not consider these to be major issues, but they should be taken into consideration by the next owner and can be addressed by an experienced mechanic or Capri enthusiast.

Technical inspection (CT) is valid for another two years.

I want to describe the car honestly: this is not a new car or a museum piece, but an interesting enthusiast’s Capri that has already received a number of worthwhile technical improvements. Many of the original parts are included, allowing the car to be returned closer to its original specification if desired.
